Two Accidents Occur Over Thanksgiving
Landon Kemp, a 28-year-old driver from Union was driving a 2002 Lincoln LS when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2002 Buick Rendevous being driven by 59-year-old Patricia Beggs on Interstate 44 at mile marker 247. Beggs and her passenger, Luther Woodham, 53, are from Waynesville, MO. The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.Missouri State Highway Patrol reports indicate all three people were wearing safety belts, but all were taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington by a Meramec Ambulance crew for injuries that ranged from minor to serious.
Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene.Another accident occurred on westbound I-44 at 3:24 a.m. Sunday at mile marker 278. A 1995 Buick Lesabre driven by 42-year-old Christopher Lindley from Kirksville veered to the right and struck a 1999 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Matthew Garrison, a Crestwood resident.According to Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, Lindley exited the right side of the interstate and struck a rock bluff, overturning several times. His car came to rest right side up facing eastbound.Authorities indicated Lindley was not wearing a safety belt, and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. His car was towed from the scene, but Garrison was ablet to drive his pickup truck away from it.
