Alachua County, FL : Gainesville woman dies in single-vehicle accident on Southwest 170th Street in Alachua County on Thursday, 31st January 2019

A Gainesville woman was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash on Southwest 170th Street in Alachua County.

Kristina Kay Steinfeldt, 40, was killed, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

At about 9:30 p.m., Steinfeldt was driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris down Southwest 170th Street toward Archer when she failed to negotiate a curve, the release said.

FHP said Steinfeldt traveled off the road and hit a wooden fence and several trees. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release, and was ejected from the Toyota.

She was transported to UF Health Shands hospital by Alachua County Fire Rescue, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
