Jackson, TN : Woman and toddler killed in Highway 412 wreck near Law Road on Saturday morning, August 6, 2016
A woman and toddler were killed Saturday morning in a two-car crash on Highway 412 near Law Road.
Danielle Hale, 23, and Rylie Oliver, 3, were killed after the Nissan Sentra they were in was hit by another car as the driver, Jacqueline Oliver, was turning left.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Jacqueline Oliver's car was hit by an SUV, causing it to slide into the median of the roadway. The second car, driven by Janice Gourley, 66, of Lexington, flipped and ejected Gourley from the car.
Gourley is listed as injured according to the crash report.
Jacqueline Oliver, who was driving the Sentra, was injured along with 4-year-old Nevaeh Oliver and 1-year-old Jalen Jacox, the report says. Oliver, Hale, and Gourley were not wearing seat belts, according to the report.
Two of the children were using child restraint devices, but those devices were not being used properly, and none of the children were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
Nevaeh Oliver was not in a child restraint device or wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
