A Live Oak 1-year-old was seriously injured Wednesday morning when he was not restrained and the car in which he was riding collided with another in Columbia County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Easton Wilson was taken to Shands Lakeshore hospital along with two others involved in the accident, FHP said in a press release.

The accident happened on County Road 252 at Birley Avenue at 11:01 a.m.

Emily Wilson, 25, of Live Oak, was driving a 2002 Hyundai Sonata east on CR 252 while Arthur Mandy Jr., 22, of Lake City, was driving west in a 1995 Toyota Camry.

FHP reported that Wilson attempted to make a left turn onto Birley Avenue and drove into Mandy's path. The left-front of Mandy's car hit the left-front of Wilson's, causing her car to rotate clockwise into a ditch.

Taken to Shands Lakeshore with minor injuries were Emily Wilson and Easton's brother, Ethan Wilson, also age 1. Mandy was also taken there with minor injuries, the report states.

FHP reported that both Wilson children were unrestrained when the accident occurred. Wilson was cited for violation of right of way, no child restraints and not wearing a seatbelt.
