NASHVILLE, TN : 1 dead, another at large in crash after speeding away from police in The Nations on Tuesday, 12th December 2023

One person is dead, and police are searching for a man after a truck crashed while speeding away from officers in The Nations Tuesday afternoon, Metro Nashville Police said.

At about 2:30 p.m., a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was spotted by an officer without a license plate on Morrow Road. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the truck sped away through someone’s yard and away from the officer.

Police said the driver turned right into an alley between Michigan Avenue and Kentucky Avenue, traveling a short distance before going off road and turning into an open lot. The truck then turned onto Michigan Avenue.

According to the police, the officer, seeing that the driver was not going to stop, turned off his emergency equipment and did not follow. The officer continued down the alley and turned onto Michigan Avenue where he was flagged down by witnesses.
