Tucson, AZ : Two drivers died on I-10 fatal collision in which one vehicle crossed the median and struck another on Monday, August 11, 2014
Interstate 10 reopened Monday after being closed in both directions on the outskirts of Tucson for hours because of a fatal collision in which one vehicle crossed the median and struck another.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia says both drivers were killed at about 3:40 a.m. when a westbound tractor-trailer rig entered the median, began to roll and then collided with an eastbound passenger car.
Garcia says the car burst into flames, igniting the truck. The fire was extinguished two hours later.
Westbound lanes were reopened five hours after the crash while eastbound lanes were fully reopened about an hour later.
