Nashville, TN : Man killed in crash on Nolensville Pike near Northcrest Drive on Monday, April 4, 2016
A man was killed after a wreck on Nolensville Pike involving a Lamborghini, according to police.
The driver of a Nissan Altima was killed when the car pulled out from a business in front of a Lamborghini Gallardo near 4815 Nolensville Pike.
Police said the driver of the Altima died at the scene. He was later identified as 28-year-old Suk Rai.
According to police, Rai was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from his vehicle.
The driver of the Lamborghini, 27-year-old Kyle Kirchner, was not injured. He was taken to a local hospital for blood tests, which is procedure for fatal crashes.
Police said the primary contributing factor in the crash appeared to be Rai’s failure to yield. There was no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a factor.
It is unclear if speed was a factor in the crash.
Police said Kirchner showed no signs of impairment, but admitted to smoking marijuana within the past few days.
The Lamborghini involved in the crash had been rented from Music City Dream Cars.
A friend of Kirchner told Channel 4 he was renting the Lamborghini after wrecking his vehicle a few weeks ago. Kirchner recently posted a photo on social media of two Metro officers posing with the Lamborghini, saying people called police when the sports car backfired.
According to the criminal court clerk’s office, Kirchner has an arrest record that includes charges of burglary, aggravated robbery and resisting arrest. He was released from prison in 2010.
