Montgomery, AL : 16-year-old driving stolen car accused of seriously injuring woman in head-on collision on July 16, 2014
A 16-year-old from Montgomery is accused of seriously injuring a woman during a head-on collision while fleeing police in a stolen car.
Martenz Howard is charged with first-degree assault by a motor vehicle, jail records show. He is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on $30,000 bond.
According to his arrest warrant, Howard was driving a stolen vehicle at a high rate from speed in an attempt to flee Montgomery police when he crashed head on with another vehicle on July 11.
The woman driving the other vehicle suffered a broken right femur and heel.
The crash occurred at around 12:45 p.m. in the area of Upper Wetumpka Road and McCarter Street.
