CHARLOTTE, NC : 1 dead, 1 airlifted in I-485 crash involving tractor-trailers on Thursday, 20th June 2024

The driver of a tractor-trailer who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash along I-485 Friday morning has been identified and the NC State Highway Patrol has released the initial chain of events that led to the north Charlotte wreck.
Charges in the deadly accident are pending at this time.
The wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, on the I-485 Inner Loop near mile marker 27. The accident involved three vehicles and two tractor-trailers.
I-485 Outer was reopened by 5:40 p.m., 10 hours after the incident.
