Chico, CA : Three people injured in a crash on May, Wednesday, 10th 2017
A crash around 4:05 p.m. Wednesday on old Highway 99 West and Glenn County Road 43 left three people injured and blocked the road between Willows and Artois.
A 47-year-old Willows woman driving a 2001 Oldsmobile was traveling south and went off the side of the road, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol’s Willows office. The driver tried to regain control of the car and ended up moving into oncoming traffic in the northbound lane.
The 52-year-old driver of a 2009 Toyota tried to avoid the Oldsmobile but both vehicles apparently swerved into the southbound lane at the same time and collided, according to the CHP.
The Toyota’s driver broke his collarbone and was taken to Enloe Medical Center in Chico while his passenger complained of pain severe enough to go to the Chico hospital. The Oldsmobile driver was also taken to the Chico medical center with moderate pain.
Both cars were driving the speed limit. The road was blocked for about an hour while the crash was cleared.
