NASHVILLE, TN : 1 dead after 2-vehicle crash in Cheatham County on Sunday, 11th August 2024

A man is dead after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Cheatham County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

According to THP, the crash happened on Interstate 40 West near mile marker 190 at about 1:44 a.m. on Sunday.

THP said 27-year-old Joshua Townsend was driving west on I-40. He was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed, swerved to avoid a wreck and hit a pickup truck.

After hitting the truck, Townsend’s car ran off the right side of the roadway, hit a rock wall and overturned. The car came to a final rest off the right side of the roadway, according to THP.
