Two Sneads men were killed in a collision on Interstate 10 early Saturday in Jackson County.
Jarvis Brown Jr., 38, and Jerod Tremaine Clayton, 32, both died after the car Brown was driving was hit from behind by a Nissan Armada driven by Sheyli Lopez Morales, 20, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol. Both vehicles had been traveling east on the interstate when Lopez Morales' car hit the back of Brown's, forcing Brown's car onto the shoulder, then into multiple trees along the shoulder of the highway.
Lopez Morales fled the scene, FHP reported. When troopers located Brown's vehicle, he and passenger Clayton were pronounced dead.
Lopez Morales and her passengers later were located at an auto repair shop off U.S. 90 in Grand Ridge, according to the report. Lopez Morales, of Morton, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and not having a valid driver's license, causing death.
