ROCK FALLS, IL : Dixon man dies in motorcycle accident in Rock Falls on Saturday, 16th March 2024

One person is dead after a Saturday morning motorcycle accident in Rock Falls, officials say.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, March 16, the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle accident along Dixon Avenue, west of Stacie Lane.

According to a press release, members of the crash reconstruction unit determined the motorcyclist — identified as 46-year-old Shawn Keane of Dixon — was traveling at a high speed along Dixon Avenue before veering off the road and colliding with a utility pole. He was declared dead at the scene.
