Seneca, SC : Man is facing DUI charges following a crash in which two people are dead on Saturday night 6th 2014
South Carolina Highway Patrol says a man is facing DUI charges following a crash that killed two people.
The collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. Saturday in Seneca on Sandifer Boulevard off of U.S. Highway 76.
The two deceased were traveling in a 1995 Mazda sedan. The Oconee County coroner said it appears a pickup truck broadsided the sedan. South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck also involved three other vehicles following the initial hit.
The coroner said Joshua Adam Silvers, 29, of Iva, died at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene.
His wife, Michele Wright Silvers, 28, died from blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.
Investigators said Michele Silvers went into cardiac arrest at the scene, and was taken to Oconee Medical Center and later died from blunt force trauma.
SCHP said a total of seven people in five cars were involved in the wreck.
A man from Westminster was airlifted to Greenville Memorial.
A 28-year-old woman from Seneca and two 18-year-old women from Westminister were taken to Oconee Medical Center. They were treated and released.
A 53-year-old man from Walhalla was not injured in the crash.
Sunday afternoon state troopers announced that Drew Greene, 52, of Westminiser, was charged with two counts of felony DUI with death.
He is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center.
State troopers are still investigating.
