DELAND, FL : A 73-year-old man and his 11-year-old grandosn were killed on Thursday, June 22, 2017

A 73-year-old man and his 11-year-old grandosn were killed Thursday in a fiery crash in DeLand, troopers said.

The crash was reported on Cascade Park Boulevard just after 9:45 p.m. Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said a Chevy Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed toward Cascade Parks Boulevard on State Road 15A. As the Camaro entered the Cascade Parks Boulevard intersection, it collided with a Chevy pickup.

The pickup flipped and caught fire and both occupants were killed, troopers said.

The Volusia County Professional Firefighters Association said the man killed was volunteer support Lt. Joel Baker. The organization said on their Facebook page that the boy killed was Baker's grandson, but they did not release his name.

Trooper said the Camaro also caught fire and the driver was critically injured.
