Linn County, KS : Woman killed, man hurt in Linn County motorcycle crash Saturday on June, 21, 2014

A 24-year-old woman was killed and a 24-year-old man injured when they were thrown from a motorcycle around 2 p.m. Saturday in Linn County.

Jerry G. Purdy was driving east on K-31 about five miles east of Blue Mound when he performed “an emergency braking maneuver,” the Kansas Highway Patrol said in a crash report. The motorcycle skidded sideways, the patrol said, and both Purdy and his passenger, Trisha A. Purdy, were ejected.

Trisha Purdy was killed, the highway patrol said. Jerry Purdy was air-lifted to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Purdys are residents of Blue Mound, the highway patrol said. The town is about 145 miles east and slightly north of Wichita.
