Longmont,CO : Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigates fatal crash in Berthoud on January, Wednesday 10th 2018

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash on U.S. 287 and West Larimer County Road 8 in Berthoud.

Police shut down U.S. 287 between Larimer County roads 17 and 4 following the crash. County Road 8 was also shut down between U.S. 287 and Berthoud Parkway, according to the sheriff's office. Larimer County dispatch said the roads had reopened as of 7 p.m.

LCSO spokesman David Moore said that a woman has been confirmed dead following the crash. He said two people were taken to hospitals, but he did not have any information regarding the extent of their injuries and whether the woman was one of the two.

The crash involved two SUVs, a truck and a motorcycle, and preliminary investigation indicates that the four vehicles collided in the intersection about 3:35 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

Moore said that a second crash that the sheriff's office considers minor in nature happened on U.S. 287 to the south of the fatal crash. The Colorado State Patrol confirmed it was on the scene of a property damage crash near Colo. 56 (County Road 8) and U.S. 287.
