LOCUST GROVE, OK : Fatal collision on Cherokee Turnpike claims one life on Sunday, 17th November 2024

A tragic accident on the Cherokee Turnpike resulted in the death of a woman and left a man hospitalized on Sunday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 6:55 p.m. near mile marker 4 eastbound, about 2 miles west of Locust Grove in Mayes County.

When the accident happened, OHP said 42-year-old Mardio A. Murphy was driving a 2001 Ford F150.

Murphy was taken to a hospital to be treated for head, arm, leg, and both internal and external trunk injuries.
