Laredo,TX : Laredo community donates thousands to family of 8-year-old crash victim on June, Monday 12th 2017

In the wake of last week's collision that left an 8-year-old Laredo girl dead, the Gateway City community has sent nearly $10,000 in donations to the victim's family for her memorial.
Barbara Fasken Elementary student Belinda Muñiz died late Tuesday when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with the vehicle she and her grandmother were in. Police subsequently arrested the wrong-way driver, Karla Karina Ortega Camacho, 27, and charged her with manslaughter.

The response has been overwhelming.
The two accounts raised more than $7,000 by Thursday morning, and, as of Monday morning, is nearing on $10,000 total. They've also been shared nearly 3,000 times on Facebook.
"We want to thank everybody for their support," Muñiz's father, Israel Saucedo, told LMTonline.com last week. "It's such a hard hit for us."
