Milwaukie,OR :44-year-old Stephanie Chestnut struck and killed by a driver on Highway 99 Sunday ,August 23rd 2015

Police say a woman who was struck and killed by a driver on Highway 99 E Sunday night may have been drunk.

According to a news release, 44-year-old Stephanie Chestnut attempted to cross the highway near SE Holly Avenue when she was struck by a driver. She was hospitalized and later pronounced dead.

Oregon State Police deputies now say Chestnut may have been drinking prior to the crash.

The 56-year-old woman who struck her has been cooperating with deputies.
