Sacramento, CA : A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on north Interstate 5 on Sunday, November, 12th 2017

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on north Interstate 5 in the Mission Bay area early Sunday, officials said.

Passing motorists called 911 about 6:10 a.m. after spotting a car that went off the side of the freeway near Clairemont Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol’s website.

The driver, who was not identified, died before being taken to a hospital, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Jose Ysea said.

Officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
