Vanceboro, NC : Beaufort man dies in crash near Vanceboro on N.C. 43 near Mile Road (SR 1477) on Monday, 27th August 2018

A Beaufort man was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed Monday afternoon.
According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, Alfred E. Logan, 54, was traveling by himself in his 2002 Dodge pickup truck on N.C. 43 near Mile Road (SR 1477) when his truck crossed the center line, ran off the roadway to the left, and struck a culvert.
There, it continued to travel off the left-hand side of the road before striking a second culvert and overturning. The truck finally came to rest in a ditch, right side up, facing north, according to the highway patrol.
