Shelby County, TN : Nebraska pair leaves roadway, hits mailbox in Shelby County motorcycle crash on Sunday, 21st August, 2016
Two Nebraska residents were injured in a motorcycle wreck in Shelby County on Sunday night.
Robert Duermyer, 52, was northbound on Iowa Highway 37 on a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Alicia Livingston, 49 – both from Papillion, Nebraska – as a passenger when he lost control of the vehicle, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
As the pair came to a sharp curve on the road at around 5:30 p.m., Duermyer drove the motorcycle off the road and into the ditch, where it hit a mailbox near a farm driveway.
Rescue personnel from Earling and Dunlap were on the scene and transported the patients to Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Duermyer was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
