A Sugarloaf Township man died after a Sunday morning crash in North Union Township.
Pasquale Manganelli, 23, 117 B. Cabin Lane, Sugarloaf Township, was pronounced dead at 1:38 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
The cause of death is attributed to multiple blunt force trauma, according to a news release, which said the death was ruled accidental.
Manganelli was driving west on Buck Mountain Road, between Route 339 and Truhan Lane, when his vehicle left the road around 12:18 a.m., rolled over and crashed, ejecting him, the coroner’s office and state police at Frackville said.
Troopers said the crash happened as Manganelli was traveling downhill and negotiating a curve in the road. His vehicle left the roadway and overturned numerous times, according to police.
Manganelli wasn’t wearing a seat belt when he crashed the green 1994 Mazda B series pickup truck which sustained disabling damage and was towed, troopers said.
He was flown to Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest.
