Orlando,FL : Girl on 'homemade' mini-bike injured during crash on may, saturday 6th 2017

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic crash that sent a 6-year-old girl to the hospital.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. Saturday at Rio Grande Avenue and Rose Boulevard.

Troopers said the girl was riding on an illegal "homemade" mini-bike with her mother's boyfriend and were hit by a vehicle.

The impact caused the girl to be thrown from the bike.

Troopers said the girl was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and has since been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
