Hutchinson, KS : Man injured when three pickups crash on U.S. 56 near McPherson on Thursday, July 7, 2016
A 77-year-old McPherson man was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a three-vehicle crash at 8:55 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 56 east of McPherson.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Agnar S. Regier, 77, was driving north on 19th Avenue in a pickup and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 56 while Chad C. Koehn, 42, of Galva, was stopped in a pickup on southbound 19th Avenue across the intersection. Regier then continued across the highway, striking a pickup driven west by Michael S. Nelson, 42, of Hillsboro. Nelson's pickup then veered to the right and struck Koehn's pickup.
Regier was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries, the KHP reported. Nelson had possible injuries but was not taken to a hospital. Koehn was uninjured.
