Chatsworth, CA : Man killed in 3-vehicle collision on 118 Freeway on Friday night, Oct 23, 2015

A man was killed Friday night in a three-vehicle collision on the 118 Freeway in Chatsworth, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 8 p.m. on the westbound side of the freeway just east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.

At least one of the involved vehicles struck a stalled white cargo van, Kimball said, citing preliminary information from the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Two other people sustained minor injuries but were not taken to a hospital, Lenske said.

The crash initially closed all westbound lanes and only one lane was open 90 minutes after the crash, according to the CHP.
