COALTON, KY : Fatal wreck in Boyd County on the westbound entrance ramp to Interstate 64 at mile 181 on Saturday, 4th January, 2020
A person died as a result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday morning on the westbound entrance ramp to Interstate 64 at mile 181.
Kentucky State Police Post 14 responded to the collision at approximately 7:30 a.m. Sherry Branham, 57, was pronounced deceased by Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond at 8:10 a.m.
Branham was the passenger in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Stanley Branham, 62, her husband. The Branhams are from Sandy Hook.
The Grand Cherokee left the roadway for unknown reasons, according to a KSP press release, and struck an unoccupied 1997 Ford pickup truck parked off the shoulder of the on ramp.
Stanley Branham was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The case is under investigation by KSP trooper Jeff Moore.
Boyd County Sheriff’s Office, Cannonsburg Fire Department and Boyd County EMS assisted KSP on the scene.
