Pickaway County, OH : Driver charged with OVI in school bus crash on U.S. 23 just south of Circleville on Monday, Oct 12, 2015

The man accused of striking a school bus and fleeing the scene in currently in jail on drug-related charges.

Troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 23 just south of Circleville around 4:15 p.m. Monday. Dispatchers said the driver struck the back of a school bus, then ran away from the scene.

The suspect, identified as Landon E. Vance, was found quickly after he fled. Troopers believed he was intoxicated; Vance was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.

No one was injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Vance, 48, was also charged with two counts as a fugitive from justice, with one of those counts coming from the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently being held at the Pickaway County Jail.
