Glen Allen man killed in I-95 crash in Henrico

A 30-year-old Glen Allen man driving a compact car was killed in a wreck with a tractor-trailer that closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Henrico County early Friday, according to Virginia State Police.The crash was reported at 2:22 a.m. just north of the Exit 80 interchange for Lakeside Avenue and Hermitage Road, said Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar, a state police spokesman.The driver of the compact Subaru, Steve A. Rosales-Mejia of the 900 block of Masters Row, died at the scene, Molnar said.The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.The crash remained under investigation, but Molnar said speed appeared to have been a factor when the Subaru lost control and struck the tractor-trailer.Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Molnar said.Northbound I-95 traffic was detoured off the interstate at Exit 80 and back on at the Brook Road/U.S. 1 interchange until state police began reopening lanes about 4 a.m.; all lanes were reopened by about 5 a.m.From staff and wire reports
