Greenacres, FL : Driver issued 3 citations in South Chicago crash that killed 13-year-old boy in the 8300 block of South Exchange Avenue on Thursday, 21st November, 2019

A driver was issued three citations after fatally striking a 13-year-old boy with a vehicle Thursday in South Chicago.

The man was driving west in the 8300 block of South Exchange Avenue at 6:22 p.m. when he hit the boy in the crosswalk, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The boy was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. He lived in South Chicago.

An autopsy released Friday found the boy died of multiple injuries from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said.

The 52-year-old driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was issued three citations: operating an uninsured vehicle, making an improper left turn on a two-way road, and “pedestrian right in roadway,” a police spokesman said.
