An officer with Colorado Springs police was hurt after a crash Sunday afternoon. According to police, it happened while they were responding to a weapons call.
It happened at the intersection of Powers and Stetson Hills, in northeast Colorado Springs around 3 p.m.. It left both directions of Powers shut down for a while.
According to CSPD, the officers involved were responding to a call of an emergency involving a weapon. Police said the officers were heading northbound on Powers with “all emergency equipment activated.”
As they passed through the intersection, they said another vehicle was going west on Stetson Hills and started to enter the intersection. The two vehicles reportedly collided there. Police said the patrol car also hit another vehicle that was turning east onto Stetson Hills after it hit the first vehicle.
