Midway, NC : Two people killed, including driver ejected, when car traveling at 100 mph hits tree on U.S. Highway 52 on Thursday, Nov 26, 2015

The State Highway Patrol says a man driving a vehicle at 100 mph and not wearing a seatbelt was one of two people killed in a wreck in Midway.

Trooper Ethan Bradshaw and 1st Sgt. S.T. Harper told The Dispatch of Lexington that 28-year-old Miguel Adinadab Morato Torres mjwof Lexington was ejected from the vehicle in the single-car wreck Thursday, which was the victim's birthday. Bradshaw says 26-year-old Patricia Rodriguez was a passenger in the car who also was killed.

Harper says Rodriguez was wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers say the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 52, where the speed limit is 65 mph. They say the 1997 Honda Civic struck a tree in the median.
