Two motorcyclists die in crash on I-90

Two more motorcyclists who attended the Sturgis motorcycle rally have died in accidents.Overall, a total of nine motorcyclists or their passengers died in rally-related accidents at this years motorcycle rally. Six accidents occurred in the Black Hills and three when rally-goers were either coming to or leaving the rally, which ended Sunday.The most recent crash occurred Sunday on Interstate 90 south of Montrose, which is near Sioux Falls.David Carl Nowading, 71, of Chattanooga, Tenn., was riding eastbound on I-90, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol. A witness who was riding with him said he slowly drifted to the right and struck the guard cable near exit 374.He then lost control of the motorcycle, which flipped end-over-end before coming to a rest in the passing lane.Nowading was deceased when emergency personnel arrived.The second fatality occurred Thursday morning and claimed the life of an Indiana man.Lawrence "Larry" Myers, 71 Thorntown, Ind., was riding east on Wyoming Highway 24 when three deer crossed the highway in front of him, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Myers collided with one of the deer and lost control of the motorcycle, which went onto its left side and collided with a guard rail.Myers was flown by helicopter to Rapid City Regional Hospital where he died Friday."He rode with the local legion riders protecting the families of our local and state fallen military soldiers," said Dee Dee Prather, a friend of Myers from Indiana. "It will be easy out there to write him off as any other motorcycle accident victim but here in our small town we will feel a great loss.
