The woman who died in a traffic accident outside a Janesville hospital Wednesday has been identified as Marian I. Schroeder, 89, of 632 E. High St., Milton.
A three-vehicle crash was reported at about 3 p.m. at the Racine Street entrance to the newly renamed SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital—Janesville.
The entrance was blocked for several hours. Visitors and staff used an alternate entrance.
The crash occurred when a westbound Honda Civic driven by Roberta R. Kerr, 69, of 1014 N. Pine St., Janesville, made a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow, according to an accident report released Thursday.
Kerr's turn resulted in a collision with an eastbound pickup truck driven by Norman L. Neman, 70, of 230 Bella Vista Drive, Darien, according to the report.
The truck, which had a green light, hit the passenger side of Kerr's vehicle.
Both vehicles went off the road, and Kerr's car hit an SUV driven by Jane B. Buggs, 83, of 5993 W. Buggs Road, Janesville, which was stopped at a red light at the hospital exit, according to the report.
Schroeder, a passenger in Kerr's car, was pronounced dead at St. Mary's.
Kerr was listed in good condition Thursday at St. Mary's. Police issued her a citation for failing to yield right of way while making left turn, resulting in the death of another.
Neman was listed in good condition Thursday at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.
