Police say a 29-year-old man has been killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 195 in East Providence.
The preliminary investigation indicates that John Cabral, of East Providence, was traveling east at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday when he changed lanes to get on an exit ramp, skidded, hit the curb and was thrown off the motorcycle and into a pole.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cabral was not wearing a helmet and police say speed appears to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
