Dover, DE : Edward D. Hudson, 44, killed after car collided with another northwest of the city on Saturday night, April 2, 2016

A Dover man, identified by Delaware State Police as Edward D. Hudson, 44, was killed Saturday night after his car collided with another northwest of the city.
A Hartly woman, Taylor C. Tucker, 19, of Hartly, was injured, DSP spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said.
The initial investigation showed the crash took place at about 9:32 p.m. April 2 on West Denney’s Road, west of the intersection with Kenton Road.
Hudson was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus eastbound when he apparently drove into a left curve and went off the southern side of the roadway. The Taurus started to spin counterclockwise, slid into the westbound lane and into Tucker’s 2003 Ford Focus.
The Focus hit the Taurus in the right passenger door after which both came to rest in the westbound lane, Bratz said.
Hudson was taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he died. The preliminary investigation showed he was not wearing a seatbelt and that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash, Bratz said.
Tucker, who was wearing her seatbelt, was treated at KGH and later released with minor injuries.
West Denney’s Road in the area of the crash was closed for about 3.5 hours, Bratz said, adding that the collision remains under investigation.
