Officials are searching for a driver who they say hit and injured a pedestrian on Tuesday.
Gerald Scott Meggs, 67, was crossing the street and heading to a Citgo on Tuckaseegee Road in Mount Holly when he was hit around 8 p.m. by a car heading north on South Main Street.
The car left the scene. Meggs was taken to Carolinas Medical Center -Main in Charlotte. Officials said he is in critical condition.
Officers said they are looking for a 2004-08 Ford pickup truck that may have damage to the passenger side mirror.
