Greenport, NY : One person died when vehicle collides head-on with transit bus on eastern Long Island on Wednesday, Sep 30, 2015

Police on eastern Long Island say a driver has been killed in a collision with a transit bus in Greenport.

Southold Police Chief Martin Flatley says the accident happened on Route 25 shortly before noon Wednesday.

He says a Suffolk County transit bus was traveling east during the head-on crash.

The smaller vehicle's driver was killed. His wife suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Their names were not immediately released.

The bus driver suffered a leg injury and was taken to a hospital.

One of five adult passengers on the bus was treated for minor injuries.
