HAWKINS COUNTY, TN : Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers assist in Hawkins County crash on Monday, 4th February 2019

A spokesperson Tennessee Highway Patrol says troopers assisted with a crash that happened on Old Union Road and Union Hollow Road in Hawkins County this morning.

According to a statement issued to News Channel 11, troopers responded to a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle out of Church Hill that crash. A Hawkins County Sheriff's Office vehicle was also involved in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle was believed to be a homicide suspect that happened in Sullivan County, THP says.

According to THP, Hawkins County requested a helicopter but was advised they could not fly due to a low-cloud ceiling.

THP adds they were not involved in the pursuit but responded to assist Hawkins County.

The county did advise the homicide suspect from Kingsport was not captured, according to THP.
