LAKELAND, FL : 2 Lakeland motorcyclists die in crash on U.S. 98 North near Rockridge on Sunday, 29th July 2018

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported two people died Sunday in a crash on U.S. 98 North near Rockridge Road.According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Laura Belotti, 60, of Zephyrhills, was traveling northbound on U.S. 98 North and entered the southbound lanes of travel in an attempt to pass another vehicle. Her 2013 Ford Escape entered the path of a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the vehicles collided head-on.
The occupants of the motorcycle, a 72-year-old male and a 70-year-old female, both of Lakeland, were ejected upon impact and suffered fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
