A woman was killed and two other people injured in a three-vehicle crash in south Charlotte Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m. around the 840-block of East Woodlawn Road. Investigators say 64-year-old Jean Jacobs Wilson was driving east on Woodlawn when her Lexus drifted into oncoming traffic.
A Cadillac, being driven by a 49-year-old woman, swerved right but was struck head-on by the Cadillac. A Toyota Highlander also collided with the Cadillac during the incident. The drivers of all three vehicles were taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
Wilson was pronounced deceased at 4:02 p.m. at the hospital. The driver of the Cadillac was seriously injured, but is expected to be okay, while the driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries.
Police said that Wilson was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, and that speed and alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors.
