Monessen, PA : A fatal head-on crash on Frankstown on Friday, November, 24th 2017

Police are searching for two people who fled the scene of a fatal head-on crash on Frankstown Avenue in Pittsburgh's East Hills on Friday morning.

An Allegheny County 911 supervisor said the crash happened in the 8300 block of Frankstown Avenue at about 5:30 a.m. Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said a white Chevy Silverado truck and a black Kia Sportage crashed into one another.

The female driver of the Kia was ejected and died at the scene. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified her as Rhoda P. Everson, 59, of Penn Hills, who died of blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the Chevy fled and may have also had a female passenger, Toler said.

Pittsburgh Police were continuing to investigate.
