Sacramento, CA : Man killed in a motorcycle crash on Pacific Coast on Monday, June 19, 2017

The man killed in a motorcycle crash on Pacific Coast Highway was identified Monday morning.

Eric Mahan, 44, of Camarillo, died Sunday after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into call box on PCH, Ventura County Medical Examiner's officials said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred sometime after 1:30 p.m. on the southbound PCH near Point Mugu Rock.CHP officials said the motorcycle was traveling southbound toward Mugu Rock when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the call box, knocking it over.

Mahan died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Federal Fire officials from Naval Base Ventura County, officials said.

The incident is under investigation by the Ventura-area CHP.
