Blount County, TN : Nathan Scott Davis, 57, killed in motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 321 in Blount County on Sunday, February 8, 2015

A Knoxville man was killed riding his motorcycle in Blount County Sunday.

Sheriff James Lee Berrong says Nathan Scott Davis, 57, was riding on U.S. Highway 321 near the intersection of Tuckaleechee Pike and Gateway Road when the truck in front of him hit the brakes and lost control, hitting Davis.

Witnesses tell deputies a car pulled out in front of the truck, driven by Steven Odom, 60, of Townsend, which forced Odom to put on the breaks.

The truck flipped, hit Davis and another motorcyclist before landing in a grassy area on the opposite side of the road. Davis was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital where he died. Odom refused medical treatment at the scene.

Davis was wearing a Department of Transportation approved motorcycle helmet.
