Baton Rouge, LA : 57-year-old man died in Motorcycle crash in Ascension Parish on Friday morning, May 27, 2016
A 57-year-old Baton Rouge man died Friday morning when the motorcycle he was riding ran off a road in Ascension Parish and struck a ditch, according to State Police, who said impairment is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
Brion Landry was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office. A passenger sustained minor injuries.
State Police gave this account of the crash:
Shortly after 2 a.m., troopers were called to the scene of a crash on La. 429 (Weber City Road) near the intersection of Roddy Road. The initial investigation showed Landry was driving his 2005 Honda motorcycle on La. 429 when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch.
Both Landry and his passenger were wearing safety helmets. Police said a toxicology sample will be taken from Landry for analysis.
