LAWRENCEBURG, TN : Local National Guardsman killed in crash in Harris County, GA on Wednesday, 25th July 2018

A local National Guardsman was killed in a crash in Georgia on night.

Joshua E. Williams, 37, was from Lawrenceburg. He was a staff sergeant and was on active orders in Harris County, GA, when the crash happened.

Williams was a passenger in the single-vehicle wreck. One other person in the car died from their injuries.

Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol investigated the crash.

Williams served three overseas deployments with the National Guard during his career.

His family is asking for community members to line the streets when his body is returned home within the next few days. Details about a procession will be released soon.
