Gatesville,TX : Gatesville teen dies in crash near Gatesville on December, Thursday 14th 2017

A Gatesville teenager died in a vehicle crash Wednesday night on State Highway 107 near Gatesville, officials said.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Robbie Barrera confirmed the fatal accident, and said DPS troopers are investigating.Gatesville High School sophomore Clancy Lawhorn, 16, a member of the high school band, was killed in the single-vehicle pickup truck crash, according to Gatesville Superintendent Eric Penrod.

On its Facebook page Thursday, the Gatesville Independent School District said it was postponing the 6th Grade Band concert “in light of the unexpected passing of one of our high school band students.”
