A car caught fire after crashing into a power pole near 31st Avenue and Thomas on Friday morning.
Phoenix police say a driver crashed into a traffic light and then fled on foot.
A witness reportedly saw the man hiding in the bushes nearby and called police.
Police say he was bloody and taken to a hospital. His injuries haven't been released.
The crash knocked out power to the mostly industrial area, but APS says it has been restored to all businesses affected.
The intersection was closed to westbound, northbound and southbound traffic for five hours because of the mess created during the crash.
