Newport News, VA : Lanes reopen on I-64 west after crash on Monday, 3rd October 2016
All lanes on Interstate 64 in York County are open after an earlier crash blocked traffic for more than two hours Monday, according to VDOT.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and occurred past mile marker 238. Drivers were detoured at exit 242 to Route 199, and backups are about 3 miles long.
The incident occured around 11 a.m. when the tractor-trailer jackknifed going west on the interstate, according to Paula Miller, VDOT spokeswoman. The incident also involved a passenger vehicle and a box truck.
No injuries were sustained by occupants of the vehicles, said Michelle Anaya, Virginia State Police Department spokeswoman.
The detour was initally closer to the accident and was moved from its original position at Camp Peary and exit 238.
